Negotiating Contracts

Negotiating contracts and fees is the most important responisbility of an artist manager. Simply because nobody wants to be stuck in a contract that they do not agree with. Therefore the relationship between the artist and the manager must be connected in a way that the manager knows almost everything about their artist. The manager must know the artist dreams, aspirations, fears, likes, dislikes, and vision. That way the manager can act on behalf of the artist and be able to negotiate terms that the artist will be pleased with. The artist on the other hand must have full trust that his or her manager knows him or her that well. The artist must believe that his or her manager will do everything possible to negotiate terms in the best interest of the artist.
