Do artist need managers?

A musical artist needs an artist manager. A musical artist needs an artist manager. A musical artist needs an artist manager. I don’t know how much more I can stress that but I will try. Now, I know you may sit back and ask yourself; “Why should I pay someone to do something that I can do myself?” I think that is a very important question to ask yourself when your music is new to the industry and you need to decide what is a necessity and what is not. Some artist probably think to themselves; “I know enough people that I can book my own gigs; that's what I have been doing anyway so why do I need a manager.” Something else you might say as an artist is “I know what and need more that anyone else does, so why would I want anyone else negotiating a deal for me. He or she might get into a contract I am not happy with. Now, I would never tell anyone he or she cannot do something; of course you can be your own manager. I will be the one to tell you that it is difficult and you need to know what you are getting yourself into.
